1027P..1965 Corvette Benchmark Convertible, two tops, 396-425 hp, 4 speed, numbers matching original motor, also has factory original body/trim tag, 41,533 actual miles but this car is being sold as TMU (true miles unknown) due to title department mistakes made when sold in 2008. Ermine White paint with Black interior and White soft top. This car is one of the elite few recipients of America’s most prestigious Corvette awards, the happy result of a lifetime of diligent care and discerning use. Unrestored and original!! It was judged worthy of Bloomington Gold Certification, Survivor and Benchmark honors, the latter being the most important of all to the demanding collector. Benchmark Certification recognizes each recipient as not only unrestored—a quality recognized in Survivor judging—but also that it remains in showroom condition, exactly as it was upon delivery from the factory with the exception of aging. These qualities make it the perfect source of reference for a top-quality restoration of a like car, ergo the term “Benchmark.” Benchmark Certification is only awarded to cars that have achieved both Gold and Survivor on the same weekend, qualify in all four Survivor categories. Benchmark is, by definition, the most important distinction in the entire Corvette judging regime, one awarded to fewer than 228 Corvettes 1953 to 1972 and 18 were 1965's as of this writing—including this jewel. Unrestored, unmolested, original low mile car in excellent condition. Also NCRS Top Flight award, a NCRS Bowtie Preservation award, the Triple Crown award in November 2008, and Bloomington Gold Special Collection in 1995. Optioned with M-20, 3.70 posi, teakwood wheel, transistorized ignition, auxiliary hardtop, SS brakes, AM/FM radio, hubcaps, and 7.75x15" white stripe tires. Most all factory correct type components including the spare, jack, jack tools, clear floor mats, seat belts, washer system, shifter, shielding, braided wires, air cleaner, carbon steel exhaust, hoses, hose clamps, gas door assembly, glove box door, bowtie mirror, carb, fuel filter, owners manual, sales brochure, and T-3 headlights. Documented with the judging sheets and certificates from Bloomington Gold, NCRS Confirmation of Existing awards, and Triple Crown award. Also has recent engine stamp and trim tag affirmation from CCAS, LLC/Al Grenning. First and last year of the Corvette 396-425 hp. A remarkable 50 plus year old car that is well-known in the hobby and the pinnacle of preservation. The expenses involved in obtaining these awards could surely exceed $20,000.00. This is the 4th time we owned this car. Production date of June 3rd, 1965 and delivered new by Bees Chevrolet Oldsmobile Co. in St. Johns, Michigan (dealer code 38 in zone 1) per the official NCRS/GM Shipping Data Records (SDR). Looks, runs, and drives excellent. CC:1/+2 SOLD
