It is well known that much of the paperwork, history, and factory documentation (window sticker) that was possessed by Mr. Moores either was misplaced or lost during either his ownership or that of the Scripps Institute. Other past owners include John Leonard of Georgia and Ken Heckart from Pennsylvania. "Automatically Yours" was sold and used as a drag car by its first owner, Bard Chevrolet. This very rare Corvette Stingray L-88 is one of the most sought after models of American high performance sports cars ever produced. Click here to read email and view his old race photos. Fun Facts: 1967 to 1969 total Corvette production = 90,268 units of which only 216 L88’s were produced (0.24 percent) – Rare indeed and this is one of those precious few!! 1026P..1970 Corvette Benchmark Convertible, 454-390 hp 4-speed numbers matching original engine, transmission, rear end, trim tag and VIN plate. Amazing time-capsule 3-owner car with 1,159 actual miles and possibly the lowest mile and most original steel bumper (1953-1972) Corvette in existence. Mulsanne Blue paint with Black leather interior and White soft top. Bloomington Gold Benchmark, Survivor and Gold certified and one of the highest scoring cars in Bloomington Gold history. Multiple NCRS Top Flight awards including regional scoring 99 points, National scoring 98.6 points, Chevy Vette Fest Triple Crown/Gold Spinner award and also in the 2006 Bloomington Gold Special Collection. Options included: power brakes, power windows, leather, AM/FM radio, tinted glass, HD posi rear, rally wheels and original F-70x15” white lettered tires. Documentation includes everything one would have received from the Chevrolet dealer and the factory but also includes the original title, salesman’s card and affidavit from the original owner. Also has a technical and historical photo reference/documentation book of at least 200 pages. Production date of July 27th, 1970 and delivered new by Ernie Grissom Chevrolet in Mt. Clemens, MI (dealer code 176 in zone 44) per the official NCRS/GM shipping data records (SDR). This car is one of the elite few recipients of America’s most prestigious Corvette awards, the happy result of a lifetime of diligent care and discerning use. Unrestored and original!! It was judged worthy of Bloomington Gold Certification, Survivor and Benchmark honors, the latter being the most important of all to the demanding collector. Benchmark Certification recognizes each recipient as not only unrestored—a quality recognized in Survivor judging—but also that it remains in showroom condition, exactly as it was upon delivery from the factory with the exception of aging. These qualities make it the perfect source of reference for a top-quality restoration of a like car, ergo the term “Benchmark.” Benchmark Certification is only awarded to cars that have achieved both Gold and Survivor on the same weekend, qualify in all four Survivor categories. Benchmark is, by definition, the most important distinction in the entire Corvette judging regime, one awarded to fewer than 228 Corvettes 1953 to 1972 and only 15 were 1970s as of this writing—including this jewel. Irreplaceable and unobtainable at any price. **Looking for crazy offer**

Also invited to the Bloomington Gold 2021 Gold Collection for display in their Tribute to the LS6. Delivered to Canada with the GM of Canada documents and NCRS/GM Shipping Data Report validating the rarity and uniqueness of this vehicle. Rarer than even the vaunted L88, the ZR2 was a one-year only production package of only 12 units. At the heart of the ZR2 concept was the outstanding LS6 engine whose understated factory rating of 425 hp, the result of a heavy duty 4-bolt bottom end, forged crank, rods and pistons. The aluminum head LS6 was joined on the ZR2 roster by transistorized ignition, a high-capacity aluminum radiator, a Muncie M22 rock crusher close ratio 4-speed, heavy-duty power brakes, and special springs, shock absorbers, radio delete, 4.11 posi rear end, and heavy duty front and rear sway bars. It is equipped today as it was when delivered to Golden Mile Chev Olds, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They sold it to the original owner Barry Needler as documented by the original warranty book, and GM of Canada build sheet. This ZR2 was the recipient of a work of art body-off nut and bolt restoration by one of the most respected restoration shops in the collector car hobby, Kevin Mackay's Corvette Repair of Valley Stream, NY, who displayed this car at the NCRS National Convention and Carlisle's Chip's Choice "Best of the Big Blocks" as the famous sideways Corvette. The restoration is said to have cost the owner over $300,000.00. This is the last known ZR2 car ever built by Chevrolet. It is rare and it is desirable. email: terry@proteamcorvette.com
